British police helicopter chases ‘UFO’ near Cardiff

LONDON (TIP): Will Martian crime become the next thing to plague security forces? Police reportedly gave chase to an UFO near a military base in Cardiff in what is the latest in the chain of claimed alien sightings in Britain.
A three-member police team in a helicopter was on its way back to a defense base at St Asthan, near Cardiff. They were hovering about 500 feet above the ground, awaiting clearance to land when 'the aliens struck'. The pilot apparently noticed a strange craft approaching them from below. It was aiming straight for the helicopter at great speed and the police pilot swerved sharply to avoid a collision. The craft, by now believed to be a UFO by the crew as it was "saucer-shaped", did not try to follow the helicopter and instead vroomed in the direction of the North Devon coast. The helicopter gave chase and even crossed the British Channel in the process.
They soon lost sight of it. That, and fuel shortage forced them to return to base. The incident occurred on June 7, but was reported on Friday by the Telegraph. .. More

6 Hemkund pilgrims buried under glacier

DEHRADUN (TIP): Six pilgrims on way to Hemkund Sahib shrine in Garhwal Himalayas were killed and a dozen others injured when a glacier moved from its place and fell on them near Hemkund Sahib on June 23 evening.
According to Chamoli district magistrate, the incident occurred due to heavy rains in the entire state for the past few days. Earlier, two scooter-borne Sikh pilgrims were also killed when boulders fell on them in Rudraprayag district of Garhwal three days ago.
"There could be many more pilgrims who may be buried under the snow and efforts are on to rescue them," the DM said.
The police and civil authorities have rushed to the spot that is believed to be near the Hemkund shrine. The injured have been shifted to Ganghria base hospital.

Yet another outrage against
a Sikh student

NEW YORK (TIP): A twelve years old Sikh girl's hair was maliciously cut by another student at Public School 219 in Flushing, Queens. On June 9, Gurprit Kaur discovered that another student had cut off a portion of her braided hair and discarded it.  The perpetrator had a history of bullying Gurprit and her brother
who wears a patka. School officials sadly returned the cut portion of Gurprit's hair --- three to four inches in all --- in a napkin that Gurprit took home with her.
Sadly, the perpetrator specifically harassed Gurprit because of her and her brother, Talwinder's, Sikh articles of faith. The perpetrator made fun of Talwinder's joorha and patka, saying "Your brother has a ball on his head. I am going to rip it off and throw it at him."
The attack on Gurprit has come off only five days after Jagmohan Singh Premi, a Sikh student, was punched in the face when a student intentionally attempted to remove his patka (smaller turban) at Richmond Hill High School, in Richmond Hill, Queens.
Sikh children continue to suffer in New York City.  This past April, the Sikh Coalition released a civil rights report that found that more than 60% of the over 400 New York City Sikh public school students the Coalition surveyed suffered bias-based harassment or violence in city schools.  More
